Learning About Perimeter

Learning About Perimeter

Today our class went out onto the courts to learn about perimeters. We learned how to work out the perimeter of a rectangle and a square. We also learned how to use stage 4, stage 5 and stage 6 strategies. The best part was everything, the reason why everything was my favourite part was that I got to have fun with my friend, and learn at the same time.

How to Set Up A New Fish Tank!

How to set up a fish tank in a classroom.

Fish are great rewarding pets to have, they come in many colours, patterns and sizes.
Fish need proper care to feel safe and at home.
Having fish look’s like it’s easy but when you actually get one it takes a lot of care.
Starting it off is easy , all you need is:

  • They would want tiny stones because they like it for decorations.
  • They would want some decorations because they like to admire them and hide as well as to feel at home.
  • 1 fish friend or more because they can die from not having any friends.
  • A fish tank because they need it to live in it.
  • An oxygen pump because it cleans out the tank (unless you're willing to cleaning it yourself)

When you are ready and prepared follow these steps

Step 1
Pour water into the tank, place the stones into the bottom of the tank and put the decorations into the tank.
Step 2 place your fish with it’s bag into the tank make sure you don’t open it up yet!

Step 3 Wait for 15 minutes or more so they can get use the waters temperature.

Step 4 When it has been 15 minutes or more this is the chance you can open it, your fish will still be scared, don’t touch them or force them to let out,

Step 5 Wait for the moment and then she/he will come, make sure that no one taps on the tank or bumps the table, your fish will feel at home .

My Maths GLOSS test

Today I did a Maths test with Mrs Manuyag. I learned:
  • I am below the right stage for adding and subtraction.
  • I am below in my times tables.
  • I am below in my fractions.
My goal is now going to be to focus on all of my maths! I am going to do this by practicing at home and in my spare learning time.

The Rising Of The Gas

The rising of the gas!

With this experiment we are learning how to fill a balloon with gas from a pepsi bottle.

Our materials that we used were:
  • Pepsi
  • Balloon

Methods

Step 1..  Place the balloon’s strap over the pepsi bottle and make sure that it is holding on.  (hard enough it doesn't come loose)

Step 2..  Wait for 10 minutes or less to get all the gas into your bottle.

Step 3..  If you want more gas in the balloon shake the bottle a little and you will see the balloon rising bigger than before.

When we put the balloon onto the bottle of pepsi the gas (which is carbon dioxide)
escaped into the balloon and it inflated a little bit, but when we shook the bottle more gas rised into the balloon and inflated the balloon more.

Turning Solids To Liquids To Solids Experiment.

How to turn Something from Solid to Liquid to Solid.
With our experiment we we're aiming to turn solid to liquid to solid.
The ingredients are:
  • Raro
  • 1 Jug
  • Ice Block sticks
  • Wooden Spoon
  • Water
  • Cups

Method:
Step 1.. Open your raro packet.
Step 2.. Poor the raro packet into the jug.
Step 3..  Add water into the jug.
Step 4..  Use the wooden spoon and mix it all together until it dissolves.
Step 5.. Pour the liquid into your cups.
Step 6.. Add Ice block sticks into the cups.
Step 7.. Put the cups into the freezer.
Step 8.. Wait until it has turned into a solid and then you can eat your ice block!!

Conclusion:
When you put the liquid into the cold temperature it turns it into a solid and that is how we made solid turn into liquid and then it turned back into solid.
